I have tried to make Un Caffe’ unique in its décor, ambience, and menu. For me, my four restaurants (two in Florence, Oregon and now two in Reno, Nevada) have always been about making a difference to the community in which I lived. My motto has always been “to bloom where I am planted.” I cannot say I am from Reno even though I have a connection to the area, because my grandparents lived in Sparks and I visited them every summer. In fact, I learned a lot about baking at my grandmother’s elbow. Wherever I have lived, I have always strived to give back to the community and I will continue to do so here in Reno through my restaurant. With great blessings come great responsibilities.
My vision for relaunching Un Caffe’ Italian Bistro is to create a special bistro and pasticceria (bakery) in Reno where “good friends meet for great food” and where they can “experience the taste of Italy”, comparable to the wonderful espresso bars and trattorias in Rome and Florence.
